Vincentsen Scores in Beavers Loss to Plymouth State

FARMINGTON, Maine - First-year forward Gabby Vincentsen (Bristol, Maine) scored a goal in the Beavers 11-1 loss at home against Plymouth State University on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference contest at Prescott Field.

The Panthers scored four goals in each of the first two quarters en route to their seventh victory of the season. 

The Beavers drew a penalty corner just 30 seconds into the game but were unable to create a scoring opportunity off of it. 

After the Beavers initial penalty corner, the field tilted in favor of the Panthers as they were able to generate numerous strong offensive opportunities. Athena Comeau found the back of the goal in the 9th minute to get the Panthers on the scoreboard for the first time. Comeau scored off a rebound from a Jenna Stowell shot. 

Taylor Healey doubled the Panthers lead in the 11th minute, scoring her 1st goal of the day. In the final minute of the 1st quarter, Stowell and Comeau added goals to make it 4-0 Plymouth State heading into the 2nd quarter. 

In the 2nd quarter Healey added three more goals, giving her four in the game, helping the Panthers extend their lead to 8-0 heading into halftime. Abigale Bsullak added a goal in the quarter for Plymouth State. 

Sarah Adamske drew a penalty stroke and converted on the shot in the 31st minute, extending the Panthers lead. 

Vincentsen scored her fourth goal of the season in the 53rd minute on an fantastic individual effort. Vincentsen carried the ball along the end line beating a Panther defender on her way to the front of the cage. Her shot beat Kayla Antonucci to the lower left corner. Bsullak added a goal in the closing minutes to finish off the scoring.

Seven different Panthers scored goals, led by Healey who finished with four and Bsullak with two. 

First-year goalie Ella Grant (Sturbridge, Mass.) finished with 15 saves for the Beavers. Allie Bliss (Underhill, Vermont) picked up a defensive save as well for the Beavers.

The Beavers host Thomas College on Tuesday afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) set to start at 3:30 PM.
