BANGOR, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team's season came to a close on Saturday evening as they dropped a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) contest to Husson University, 11-0.
The Beavers were unable to get their offense going in the game and were outshot 60-0 in the contest, including 28-0 in shots on goal.
The Eagles were able to get things going early, scoring just 80 seconds into the game on a goal from Faith Tillotson. Tessa Capozzoli tallied the assist on Tillotson's goal. Julia Murch notched an unassisted marker two minutes later to double the Eagles lead.
Maddie Arsenault, Abbie Ross, and Averi Baker all picked up goals in the first quarter to help Husson take a 5-0 lead into the 2nd quarter.
The Eagles kept their offensive attack rolling in the 2nd quarter. Teagan Blackie, Maddie Perkins, and Phoebe Carlock added goals of their own as Husson took an 8-0 lead into halftime.
Lauryn Brown picked up a goal in the 3rd period while Capozzoli and Louder added goals in the 4th period to finish off Saturday evening's scoring.
Ella Grant (Sturbridge, Mass.) was under heavy pressure all afternoon but stood tall in goal for the Beavers, tallying 17 saves.
Husson advances to Sunday afternoon's NAC Championship game against the winner of 2nd-seeded Thomas College and 3rd-seeded SUNY Morrisville on Sunday afternoon.
