BANGOR, Maine - After a scoreless opening 40 minutes, the Husson University soccer team scored four goals over 10 minutes of game time to help lead them past the University of Maine at Farmington on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference battle.
Addi Laslie opened the scoring when she received a thru-ball from Molly Finn, sending her in behind the Beavers back line. Laslie took one touch before firing a shot into the left corner to give Eagles a 1-0 lead.Â
Laslie doubled the Eagles lead, finding the back of the net once again with 1:40 to go before halftime. Laslie made a beautiful turn in the box to get to a left-footed shot. Her shot hit the inside of the post and ricocheted into the back of the goal. Natalie Aviola picked up the assist on Laslie's 2nd goal.Â
Finn sent another thru-ball past the Beavers backline allowing Laslie to run onto it. Laslie slid a shot into the bottom right of the goal to extend the Eagles lead to 3-0 just 29 seconds into the 2nd half.Â
Katelyn Dagget extended the Eagles lead just three minutes later when received a pass inside the six-yard box and found the back of the net.Â
Goals from Lindsey Russell and Allie Camerson late in the 2nd half made it 6-0 Eagles.
The Beavers had a couple of strong opportunities to score, recording seven shots on goal. Eagle goalies Madison Weigler, Hannah Kenney, and Aubrey Fadden combined to make all seven shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Paige Gonya (Sabattus, Maine) made 11 saves in the game for the Beavers.Â
Laslie finished with a hat-trick while Aviolla added a pair of assists to pace the Eagles.

The Beavers host the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Tuesday afternoon in a North Atlantic Conference contest scheduled to begin at 1 PM.
