Husson Takes Down Farmington

BANGOR, Maine - Husson University scored six goals in the first quarter and didn't look back en route to taking down the University of Maine at Farmington on Friday evening in a matchup between two Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference (CMCFHC) members. The Eagles topped the Beavers, 13-0.

The Records:

The Beavers dropped to 0-13 on the season with an 0-4 record in CMCFHC play. The Eagles improved their record to 7-7 on the season.

How it Happened:

The Eagles scored six goals in the first period as three different players scored two goals to give Husson a 6-0 lead. Averi Baker, Faith Tillotson, and Lauryn Brown each scored goals in the first period as the Eagles mounted a quick 6-0 lead after the first 15 minutes of play.

A goal from Madison Willey and a hat-trick marker from Brown gave Husson an 8-0 lead heading into halftime.

Karlie Ramsdell and Maddie Perkins added goals in the 3rd quarter for the Eagles as they opened up a 10–0 lead after 45 minutes of play.

Abby Roos, Ruby Kitchin, and Brianna Smith scored goals in the 4th quarter to make it a 13-0 game and finish off the scoring on Friday evening.

The Beavers were held scoreless through the first three quarters but were able to generate a pair of shots in the 4th quarter but could not crack the scoreboard.

Brown scored three goals to lead the way for the Eagles while Baker and Tillotson each finished with a pair of goals. Maddie Arsenault finished with four assists and Hope Bouchard added two assists for Husson.

Team Stats:

The Eagles held advantages in shots (45-2), shots on goal (33-1), and penalty corners (14-0) to pick up their 7th win of the season.

The Goalkeepers:

Ella Grant (Sturbridge, Mass.) started and played the first half, making 14 saves for the Beavers. Charlotte Beckwith (Hampden, Maine) took over in the 2nd half and made six saves for Farmington. Maria Levesque and Maddie Stevens combined on the shutout victory for Husson. Stevens made one save while Levesque was not challenged to make a save.

UP NEXT

The Beavers will close out the regular season on Tuesday afternoon on the road against Nichols College. The game is set to begin at 4:00 PM.
