LAKE PLACID, New York - The University of Maine at Farmington men's alpine team continued their phenomenal showing at the USCSA National Championships, placing 6th overall in today's slalom event. With the 6th place finish in giant slalom, the Beavers secured a 5th place finish in the 2024 National Championship.
Sam Roy (Frenchville, Maine) led the Beavers on the course today, placing 19th overall with a pair of competitive times. Roy finished his first run with a time of 51.08 seconds and his second run in 52.40 seconds for a combined two-run time of 1:43.48.
Colgan O'Keefe (Westchester, N.Y.) had a big day on the hill for the Beavers, placing inside the top-30 with a 29th place finish. O'Keefe finished with a pair of similar runs, posting a 54.19 second first run and a second run time of 54.38 seconds for a two-run time of 1:48.57.
Lake Lindelof (Belfast, Maine) continued his impressive week with a 33rd place finish today. Lindelof was the third Beaver to contribute to the team's combined time. Lindelof posted a time of 1:49.61 with run times of 54.34 seconds and 55.27 seconds.
Lance Dolan (Coplin Plantation, Maine), although did not score for the Beavers, had one of the more impressive runs of the day. Dolan skied towards the back of the competition as the course got increasingly more difficult to maneuver. Dolan finished with a time of 1:50.14 that included a first run time of 55.40 seconds and a second run time of 54.74 seconds.
Roy, O'Keefe, and Lindelof combined for a team time of 5:21.66 to grab 6th place.
