WATERVILLE, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington cross country athletes Lina Martinez Nocito (Mt. Vernon, Maine) and Dellaney Flower (Farmington, Conn.) swept the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's cross country weekly awards, with Martinez Nocito earning NAC Runner of the Week and Flower garnering NAC Rookie of the Week honors.

For Martinez Nocito, this marks the third time this season she has received the award, doing so after each of the three meets she has competed in. This past weekend at the NAC Preview Meet hosted by Husson University, Martinez Nocito delivered a phenomenal performance, pacing the field and finishing first overall by more than a minute and 20 seconds. She completed the 6K course in 23:22.3, averaging 6:16.1 per mile.

For Flower, this is the second time this season she has been named NAC Rookie of the Week, the first coming during the opening week of the season. At the NAC Preview Meet on Saturday, Flower was the third Beaver to cross the finish line, placing fifth overall with a time of 26:40.2. Her fifth-place effort helped lead the Beavers to a first-place team finish — their second team victory of the season.

Martinez Nocito and Flower will return to action this weekend at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University.
