LEWISTON, Maine – Junior Erica Johnson (Nobleboro, Maine) qualified for the New England Championships in the triple jump, while senior Carrie Burr (Pittsfield, Maine) qualified in the 60-meter hurdles this afternoon at the Bobcat Tune-Up hosted by Bates College.
This marks the second event that Johnson has qualified for at the New England Championships this season, while the 60-meter hurdles is the third event that Burr has qualified in.

Not only did Johnson qualify for the New England Championships, but she also claimed first place in the triple jump with her best attempt measured at 10.73 meters. Additionally, Johnson finished sixth in the 60 meters, setting a personal best with a time of 8.13 seconds.
For Burr, she posted a time of 9.70 seconds in the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles, earning a third seed heading into the final heat. Burr finished the finals in 9.72 seconds, securing third place overall in the event. She also set a new school record in the 200 meters, clocking a time of 27.31 seconds, which earned her another third-place finish.
Senior Cara Perry (Stoughton, Mass.) ran a personal best time of 28.45 seconds in the 200 meters, finishing eighth overall and surpassing her previous best of 29.07 seconds.
Senior Anna MacDonald (Bangor, Maine) ran a time of 5:39.14 in the mile, placing sixth overall. MacDonald's time was a personal best by more than five seconds.
Sophomore Hannah Milliken (Greene, Maine) set personal bests in both the weight throw and the shot put, while also posting her best time of the season in the 60-meter dash.
Sophomore Kennedy Todd (Scarborough, Maine) finished sixth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:07.19.
In the long jump, first-year Emma Syphers (Bangor, Maine) placed fifth overall with her best attempt measuring 4.83 meters.
Kaitlyn Harmon-Bolding (Biddeford, Maine) had a strong showing in a pair of throwing events. She finished 11th in the shot put with a best attempt of 8.55 meters and placed fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 12.43 meters.
Combined with the men's team, the Beavers will have nine athletes competing in 14 different events next weekend at the New England Championships, setting a program record.
