AMHERST, Massachusetts - University of Maine at Farmington senior
Carrie Burr (Pittsfield, Maine) qualified for the New England Championship in the heptathlon, amassing 3,458 points in the UMass-Multi event hosted by UMass Amherst on Wednesday and Thursday. Burr placed 11th overall against numerous Division I competitors.
Burr had numerous standout performances across the two days but her top came on Wednesday in the 200 meters where she broke her own program record and placed fifth overall with a time of 26.92 seconds.
For the event, Burr finished with event times/distances and places as follows;
100 Meter Hurdles - 11th place (17.67 seconds)
High Jump - Tied 7th (1.36 meters)
Shot Put - 13th (8.71 meters)
200 Meters - 5th (26.92 seconds)
Long Jump - 13th (4.28 meters)
Javelin - 12th (22.83 meters)
800 Meters - 10th

Burr and the rest of the Beavers will be back in action on Friday at the Monks Invitational as well as some participating in the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College.
