WATERVILLE, Maine – For the second straight week, University of Maine at Farmington first-year forward Owen Spera (Gorham, Maine) has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Spera continued his torrid start to the season in the Beavers' lone game last week, scoring a pair of first-half goals against the University of Maine at Fort Kent. His two goals staked UMF to an early 2-0 lead before Fort Kent rallied with two goals in the second half to force a 2-2 draw.

Through just two regular season games, Spera has already netted five goals, leading the conference. He and the Beavers will look to keep their momentum going on Tuesday when they travel to face Lasell University in non-conference action. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. as Farmington seeks its second win of the young season.
