How it Happened:

Both teams battled through a scoreless opening quarter, with Thomas earning one penalty corner but neither side managing a shot attempt. Farmington's defense continued to hold firm in the second quarter, limiting the Terriers' offensive opportunities despite Thomas earning four penalty corners. The Beavers also kept Thomas off the scoreboard through the first half, sending the game into halftime tied at 0-0. The first half was mainly a possession battle as Thomas held a slim 1-0 advantage in shots.

Thomas broke through early in the third quarter, as Celia Stinson scored just over two minutes in to give the Terriers a 1-0 lead. Thomas continued to apply pressure, earning a series of penalty corners before Samantha Thebarge found the back of the cage a minute and a half later, slapping a shot into the goal from the top of the circle to extend the Terrier advantage to 2-0. Stinson was credited with the assist on the goal from Thebarge.

In the 41st minute, the Beavers had their best opportunity to score when junior forward Mikayla Wilcox (Farmington, Maine) was sprung loose behind the Thomas backline. Wilcox's shot attempt was turned aside by Terrier goalkeeper Mackenzie Toner to keep the Beavers off the scoreboard.

Farmington looked to respond in the fourth quarter, earning two penalty corners, but Thomas' defense held firm to preserve the shutout and secure the 2-0 victory.
