Men’s Alpine Completes Regular Season Unbeaten With First Place Finish at Titcomb

FARMINGTON, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington men's alpine team wrapped up the regular season in dominant fashion, earning first place as a team for the eighth time in as many events this season.

Farmington's depth was on display Sunday, with two new faces factoring into the team's overall score. Junior Chase Raven (Hudson, Wis.) and Declan Varnerin (Stow, Mass.), who have been consistent finishers all season for the Beavers, were rewarded for their efforts with top-three finishes for the first time this year.

Farmington's top three finishers combined for a total time of 4:16.18 and six place points to run away with the team title.

With Sunday's race marking the end of the regular season, the Reynolds Division crowned its Ricker Cup Champions, awarded to the top combined men's and women's alpine program of the season. Saint Joseph's College claimed the Ricker Cup trophy, thanks in part to its women's team placing first in every event throughout the season.

Beaver Skiers:

Senior Lance Dolan (Coplin Plantation, Maine) capped his exceptional season with yet another first-place finish. Dolan completed his two runs in a combined time of 1:24.12, finishing four tenths of a second ahead of Jack Abuhaidar of Colby College, who placed second. Dolan clocked a 42.27-second first run before posting a 41.85-second second run.

Raven earned the bronze medal, placing third with a total time of 1:25.45 across his two runs. He finished his first run in 43.26 seconds and followed with a 42.19-second second run.

Varnerin delivered two efficient and consistent runs en route to a fourth-place finish. He posted a 43.43-second first run and a 43.18-second second run for a combined time of 1:26.61.
