WATERVILLE, Maine - For the first time in her collegiate career, University of Maine at Farmington sophomore Lisa Truchin (Torrance, Calif.) has been named the NAC Pitcher of the Week.
Truchin led the Beavers to an important victory on Sunday afternoon, tossing a complete game while giving up just one run in Farmington's 4-1 win over Salem State in game one of a doubleheader.
Across the seven innings of work, Truchin scattered six hits while striking out four. She made it through six innings scoreless, allowing just one run in the bottom of the seventh inning before slamming the door on the Vikings' comeback attempt.
Truchin worked two-thirds of an inning in game two of the doubleheader, giving up no runs on three hits.
To this point in the season, Truchin has made five appearances, three of which were starts, totaling 18.0 innings pitched while posting a 5.44 ERA. She boasts a 2-1 record in the circle, the most wins of any pitcher on Farmington's staff.
Truchin and the Beavers return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Waterville to take on Colby College in a non-conference doubleheader.
