How It Happened:

Southern Maine took control early, scoring four runs in the bottom of the first inning, taking advantage of a pair of Farmington errors, while drawing three walks, and being hit by a pitch. The Huskies had just one hit in the inning, an Evan Baschnagel single to lead off the inning but led 4-0 after one.

Peter Keblinsky delivered a 2-run home run to straight away left field in the bottom of the second,
extending the USM lead up to 6-0.

Farmington got on the board in the top of the third inning. Colby Lewis (Blue Hill, Maine) led off the inning by being hit by a pitch and then moved over to second on a base hit from Ben Mello (Gloucester, Mass.). After moving over to third on a ground out, Lewis scored on Hayden Durrell (Madrid, Maine) groundout to make it a 6-1 game.

The Huskies answered with five runs in the bottom half of the third to extend the advantage to 11-1. Keblinsky delivered a two-run single in the inning, while Drew Scialdone drew a bases loaded walk and Josh Polchies hit a SAC fly as the Huskies gained complete control.

Southern Maine broke the game open in the fourth inning, erupting for 13 runs in the frame to put the contest out of reach. Mike Anquillare delivered the big blow in the inning, ripping a grand slam over the wall in left center.

The Huskies added three more runs in the sixth to account for the final margin.
