FARMINGTON, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country team dominated the field on Saturday in the 2026 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship preview meet. The meet was held at UMF, the site of the 2026 NAC Championship.
The Beavers scored a perfect 15 points, with their top-five finishers placing first through fifth in impressive fashion.
Beaver Runners:
Fresh off being named the NAC Runner and Rookie of the Week, first-year Mason Tomboni (Selma, Ind.) once again led the way for the Beavers. Tomboni finished with an impressive time of 27:14.3 on the 8K course, averaging 5:28.7 per mile for the race.
Finishing just behind Tomboni was senior Andrew LaFlamme (Nashua, N.H.), who earned second place after finishing with a total time of 27:19.6. LaFlamme finished with an average mile time of 5:29.8.
Junior Alexander Gagnon (Goffstown, N.H.) also ran a strong race for Farmington, finishing the 8K in 27:41.0 en route to placing third overall. Gagnon's average mile time for the race was 5:34.1.
Fellow junior Samuel Perkins (Jay, Maine) finished just 8.9 seconds behind Gagnon, posting a time of 27:49.9 to place fourth overall. Perkins completed the race with an average time of 5:35.9 per mile.
The fifth and final Beaver to contribute to the team's overall score was first-year Levi Riggs (Phippsburg, Maine). Riggs placed fifth in 28:00.6, averaging 5:38.1 per mile.

- Ross Gaffney (Edgecomb, Maine) - 24th; 35:11.2; 7:04.7 per mile
- Jordan Castonguay (Sabattus, Maine) - 29th; 38:44.9; 7:47.6 per mile
