Box Score FARMINGTON -- Brendon Santry (Tallahassee, Fla.) scored 2:51 into overtime to give the University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team a 2-1 victory over University of Maine at Machias today in non-conference action at Prescott Field.
The Beavers (3-3-2) are scheduled to visit Newbury College Saturday at noon, while the Clippers (2-7) are tabbed to take on the University of Maine at Presque Isle Saturday at noon.
Santry's game-winning shot was the lone bid by either team in the extra session. Dillon Clark (Old Town, Maine) slid a pass through the box, which Santry, 15 feet from the goalmouth, deposited easily for the 2-1 win.
Zach Good (Westbrook, Maine) gave the hosts a 1-0 lead at 38:30 when the junior headed in a boot from Patrick Martin (West Berlin, Vt.). The Beavers kept the one-goal advantage at intermission thanks to a leaping save by keeper Tennessee Peters (Scarborough, Maine) on Stefan Zalucky (Konstancin-Jeziora, Poland) shot.
The Clippers evened the match at 1-1 whn Pablo Salas (Hartford, Conn.) followed a kick by Isaiah Eagles (Richmond, Maine) at 67:09 before Santry came through for the Beavers in overtime.
Peters recorded a pair of saves for the Beavers, who held a 19-8 command in shots.
Luis Herrera (Rialto, Calif.) and Kyle Lancaster (Richmond, Maine) shared netminding duties for Machias with Lancaster taking the loss. Herrera and Lancaster made five and four saves, respectively.
