Despite being outshot 37-6 in the match, the Terriers held a 1-0 lead at intermission. Arian Kumlangnam (Winslow, Maine) gave Thomas its advantage by lofting a high-arcing shot out of the reach of UMF keeper Beth Lebel (Lewiston, Maine) at 12:45. Thomas nearly had a two-goal command at the break when Terissa Ridge (Rumford, Maine) went just high of the goal.
Amador, whose post shot was the Beavers' best opening-half bid, was the beneficiary of a superb individual effort by Abbey Gilbert (Wilton, Maine) in tying the game. Gilbert made her way through three defenders and slid a pass in front of the goalmouth that Amador deposited to tie the contest at 1-1 at 59:12.
Tuttle gave the hosts a 2-1 lead after chipping in a Renee Dupre (Rehoboth, Mass.) pass over the head and glancing off the fingertips of Thomas keeper Kate Thibodeau (Woolwich, Maine) at 68:27.
UMF appeared to have a chance to pad the lead at 79:50 on an Alexandra Crocker (Glenburn, Maine) header toward a open goalmouth off a Jamie McKay (Bar Harbor, Maine) corner kick, but a Thomas defender booted the ball away.
The Beaver defense held the Terriers without a shot over the final 16:25 of the match in preserving the 2-1 win.
Lebel made one saves for UMF.
Thibodeau stopped 21 shots in the loss.
