GORHAM, Maine -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's golf team placed third at the Southern Maine Cup today at Gorham Country Club.
The Southern Maine Cup features pairs of golfers playing six holes of best ball, followed by six holes of scramble format and finally six holes of alternate shot golf.
The host Huskies won the event with a 213 followed by University of New England (221), UMF (229) and Saint Joseph's College of Maine (233).
The duo of Jacob Roddy (Belgrade, Maine) and Daniel Zmistowski (Old Town, Maine) led the Beavers with a 75 followed by David Berthiaume (Allenstown, N.H.) and Orion Cochrane (Greenville, Maine) at 76 and Cameron Audet (Windham, Maine) and Joe Messerman (Brunswick, Maine) at 78.
UMF is scheduled to compete at the UNE Invitational on Monday at Cape Arundel Golf Club.
