BRUNSWICK, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington junior Joe Messerman (Brunswick, Maine/Brunswick) shot a two-day total of 155 to finish tied for eighth overall at the 2012 Bowdoin College Invitational golf tournament, which concluded Sunday at the Brunswick Country Club.
Messerman posted rounds of 78 and 77 over the two-day event.
Senior Orion Cochrane (Greenville, Maine/Greenville) also finished in the upper-half of the leaderboard, shooting a 77 on Sunday to go with his 80 on Saturday for a two-day tally of 157 – tied for 14th.
UMF's Dan Zmistowski was tied for 48th overall, firing rounds of 90 and 86 for a total of 176.
UMaine-Farmington carded a two-day total of 665, and finished eighth out of 10 teams in the event. Williams College won the tournament with two-day team total of 606.
The Beavers will host their own tournament, the 2012 UMF Invitational, this Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Sunday River Golf Club in Newry, Maine.
