Golf finishes fifth at John Queenan Memorial

CASCO, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington turned in a team card of 353 to finish fifth out of six teams at the St. Joseph's College John Queenan Memorial Tournament, Tuesday afternoon at the Point Sebago Golf Resort.

David Berthiaume shot an 87 on the Par 72, 6474-yard Point Sebago course to finish tied for 13th overall. Simon Rollins was tied for 15th with an 88, and both Chris Wallace and Tom Bearor fired an 88 and were tied for 19th overall. Aaron Rivard shot a 95 for the Beavers.

Husson University won the event with a team total of 316, led by medalist Lance Bernier with a 78. Southern Maine (328) was second, followed by Saint Joseph's (334) and the University of New England (340). Thomas College (396) was sixth in the field.

UMF returns to the links on Friday, Sept. 27, at the University of Southern Maine Cup at the Gorham Country Club.
