BANGOR, Maine – Michael Richard drove his way to a seventh place tie in the first round of the Husson Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
Richard carded a 74 on the opening day including one birdie on the seventh hole. The sophomore sits tied with four other golfers in seventh and trails Husson's Greg Martin for the top spot by seven strokes.
Richard was not the only UMF golfer to record a birdie on Saturday as Gavin Brickley recorded one on the 13th hole and ranks tied for 37th.
UMaine-Farmington tees off in round two of the Husson Invitational on Sunday.
