CASCO, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington sophomore Gavin Brickley (Plymouth, N.H./Plymouth Regional) finished with a top ten spot on the leaderboard at the 13th annual St. Joseph's Queenan Invitational at Point Sebago Resort on Tuesday afternoon.
Brickley shot a 38 on the front nine, which was tied for the fifth best score on the first half of the course. At the end of the round, he placed seventh overall with a total of 78 on the scorecard.
Travis Kupec (Windsor Locks, Conn./Windsor Locks) followed with a 17th place tie after shooting an 83. Aaron Rivard (Acton, Maine/Sanford) and Michael Richard (Turner, Maine/St. Dominic Academy) were just off Kupec's pace with an 86 and tied for 21st. Eric Aguliar (Thornton, N.H./Plymouth Regional) rounded out the team with an 87 on the afternoon.
As a team, the Beavers came in fifth overall but second among North Atlantic Conference schools. UMF combined for a 333 and trailed its NAC rival, Husson, by 10 strokes for the top spot among NAC teams.
UMaine-Farmington will compete in the two-day Bowdoin Invitational, which starts on Saturday at the Brunswick Country Club.
