SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – University of Maine at Farmington track and field wrapped up its inaugural season over the weekend with three top 20 finishes at the NCAA Regional Championship, hosted by Springfield College.
Shane Hathaway (Pittsfield, Maine/MCI) grabbed a top 20 finish in the men's 400 meter hurdles. The sophomore came in 19th after crossing the line at 58.74 in the finals.
In the men's 110 meter hurdles, Jake Roberts (South China, Maine/Erskine Academy) saw a 17th place finish in the preliminaries with a time of 16.13.
In the men's 4x400 meter team relay, the Beavers placed second among North Atlantic Conference schools and 14th overall with a combined time of 3:38.59 in the finals.
After her strong season in the women's high jump events, Bridget Humphrey (Jefferson, Maine/Erskine Academy) leaped 1.53 meters on her first attempt but saw her rookie season come to a close after getting stopped by the bar.
UMaine-Farmington's list of honors may continue this week with the announcement of the North Atlantic Conference All-Conference Team.
