LaFlamme and Perkins Receive CSC Academic All-District Recognition

FARMINGTON, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country and track and field athletes Andrew LaFlamme (Nashua, N.H.) and Samuel Perkins (Jay, Maine) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon, the organization announced.

The CSC Academic All-District Team honor recognizes student-athletes who are at least sophomores academically while maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Athletically, student-athletes must have finished inside the top 50 at their 2025 NCAA Regional Championship in cross country or be ranked inside the top 50 in the region in a single event in either indoor or outdoor track and field.

LaFlamme had a torrid junior season, ranking inside the regional top 50 in two indoor events as well as three outdoor events. During the indoor season, LaFlamme finished ranked 27th in the 5,000 meters after posting a time of 15:17.43 at the Harvard Invitational. He also ranked 36th in the 3,000 meters with an adjusted time of 8:44.31 at the Mule Tune-Up. LaFlamme continued to find success during the outdoor season, ranking 17th in the 10,000 meters (31:52.29), 17th in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:49.35), and 36th in the 5,000 meters (15:25.55). The CSC Academic All-District honor is the second of LaFlamme's career and his second in as many seasons. A Creative Writing major, LaFlamme is slated to graduate in May 2027.

Perkins, a sophomore, earned his first CSC Academic All-District recognition after finishing inside the regional top 50 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Perkins concluded the season ranked 50th overall in the event, posting a time of 11:15.95 at the 2026 North Atlantic Conference Championship. He also competed in cross country and indoor track and field for the Beavers during the 2025-26 academic year. Perkins is a Business Administration major who is on track to complete his degree in the spring of 2028.

The 2026 Academic All-District® Track and Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track and field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.

Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 16, 2026. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects of the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
