LEEDS, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington golf finished the Maine Collegiate Championship in eighth place after the final round on Sunday afternoon, hosted at Springbrook Golf Course.
Michael Richard (Turner, Maine/St. Dominic Academy) paced the Beavers with a 15th place tie. Richard carded a 77 on Sunday after improving by two strokes from Saturday for a 156 in the tournament. Gavin Brickley (Plymouth, N.H./Plymouth Regional) followed Richard by a stroke in a 19th place tie.
Eric Aguiar totaled a 161 for the tournament and ranked tied for 27th place. Trevor Hisler (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) was only three strokes behind Aguiar in a 32nd place tie. Alex Grenier (Winslow, Maine/Winslow) rounded out the field for UMF in a 46th place tie with a 180.
On the team leaderboard, the Beavers totaled a 638 for an eighth place finish. UMF only trailed Colby for seventh by three strokes and Bates by seventh strokes in sixth place.
UMaine-Farmington will complete at the University of New England Invitational on Thursday.
