GORHAM, Maine- Lead by the pairing of Eric Aguiar (Thornton, N.H./Plymouth Regional) and Trevor Hisler (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) the University of Maine at Farmington golf's team finished in 4th in the Southern Maine Cup played Friday at Gorham Country Club.

The uniquely formatted 18-hole event consists of six holes better ball, six holes of scramble and six holes of alternate shot.

Aguiar and Hisler finished one stroke back of the leaders with a 67, Joe Francoeur and Grayson Waterman of USM finished with a 66 to win the event.  Other UMF scoring pairs of Gavin Brickley (Plymouth, N.H./Plymouth Regional) and Alex Grenier (Winslow, Maine/Winslow) shot a 78 and Mike Richard (Turner, Maine/St. Doms) and Nick Cartmell (Freeport, Maine/Freeport) shot a 79 to round out the scoring for the Beavers.

UMaine-Farmington is back in action next Thursday (10:00 a.m.) playing in the Maine Maritime Academy Invitational at Augusta CC
