CASCO, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington golf placed third as a team at the 14th annual John Queenan Memorial Tournament on Tuesday, hosted at the Point Sebago Golf Course by Saint Joseph's College.
Eric Aguiar (Thornton, N.H./Plymouth Regional) powered the Beavers with a fifth place finish with a 77. Michael Richard (Turner, Maine/St. Dominic Academy) had a solid round for UMF after carding an 80 and finished in a ninth place tie, while teammate Gavin Brickley (Plymouth, N.H./Plymouth Regional) matched Richard with an 80 in the round. Alex Grenier (Winslow, Maine/Winslow) placed 19th with an 85 and Trevor Hisler (Skowhegan, Maine/Skowhegan) rounded out UMF's scoring with a 94.
The Beavers ranked third on the team leaderboard with a total score of 322. Saint Joseph's won the event with a 302 while Southern Maine followed in second place with a 313. University of New England sat behind UMF with a 327 and Thomas College placed fifth with a 384.
UMaine-Farmington will compete this weekend in the Bowdoi
