Golf Team in Seventh After Day One of USM Fall Classic

GORHAM, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington golf team stands in seventh place after Day one of the USM Fall Classic played on Sunday at the Gorham County Club.

UMF is in seventh place in the eight-team field.  Bowdoin College leads all teams with an outstanding opening round team score of 306, UMass-Dartmouth is in second with a score of 308.   USM-A is in third (310), USM-B is in fourth (314), followed by New England College in fifth with a score of 316. The Monks of Saint Josephs finished in sixth with a score of 317.

Senior Eric Aguiar once again led the Beavers carding an eight-over-par 80 to finish in a tie for 20th place.  Junior classmates Justin Rodrigue and Matt Pelletier are both tied for 24th each turning in a card of 83.  Freshman Daniel Mickiewicz finished the day shooting a 86 to finish in 34th place.

UMaine-Farmington returns to action on Monday for the second and final round of the 2018 Southern Maine Fall Classic at Gorham Country Club, beginning at 10 a.m.
