UMF Takes Third Place at Cape Arundel Tournament

KENNEBUNKPORT, Maine -- Led by senior Eric Aguiar, the University of Maine Farmington golf team finished in third place Thursday in the University of New England Invitational played at the Cape Arundel Golf Club.

UMF finished as the top North Atlantic Conference(NAC) team.  USM topped the field of six teams with its score of 298.  Host UNE was runner-up at 305, and Endicott College was fourth at 315.

Aguiar posted the low score of the day on the front nine carding a 34.  Aguiar finished tied for third place with a four-over-par 73.

Coming in with a score of 76 was junior Matt Pelletier, finishing tied for sixth place. Sophomore Charles de Hass finished with an 80, junior Justin Rodrigue carded an 83 for the top four spots for UMF.

UMF is back in action tomorrow afternoon (12 p.m.) at the unique USM Cup at Gorham CC.  The event combines pairs of golfers playing three different formats - best ball, scramble, and alternate shot.
