GORHAM, Maine - UMaine-Farmington golf team opened its 2019 season by finishing third at the Gorham Country Club in a three-team match hosted by Southern Maine. USM posted a four-man aggregate score of 298 to take the top spot. Saint Joseph's came in second with a 312, and UMF posted a score of 348.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Matt Pelletier and teammate Charlie De Hass lead UMF with a matching score of 81 (41-40) in the 18-hole event. Tied for 8th overall.
- Tristan Dundas (USM) was low medalist posting a 72 (35-37)
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nate Poulin shot an 89 (42-47) to finish third for the Beavers and 12th overall
- Dan Mickiewicz finished 14th overall by carding a 97 (45-52) to round out the top four for UMF
- USM had four golfers finish in the top four.
