BANGOR, Maine -- The University of Maine at Farmington golf team finished fifth out of seven teams at Saturday's Husson University Invitational, held at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
The Beavers carded a 328 (+44) on the par 71, 6315-yard Bangor Muni course, and trailed fourth-place Thomas College by 18 strokes.
Husson University won the tournament with a four-under 280, while the Eagles' "B" squad shot a 309 (+25) and was tied for second place with Colby College.
On the individual leaderboard, Neil Larochelle III and Daniel Mickiewicz each fired a seven-over 78 and were tied for 14th overall. Ryan Sargent carded an 84 (+13) and was 23rd overall among individuals, while Chris Frey (88, +17) and Kellen True (89, +18) were tied for 30th and 32nd respectively.
Husson Chris Kauppila took medalist honors after shooting a two-under 69, winning by one stroke over teammates Cade Charron and Jack King, and Colby's Nolan Burke.
