Two more UMF runners – Sarah Chapin (29:43.88) and Kaylee-Mae Durgin (29:48.91) – were right behind Chapin in 24th and 25th place.
UMaine-Farmington tallied 48 points in the standings, and trailed event champion Husson by 11 points. Southern Maine (63 pts.) and Thomas College (85 pts.) trailed the Beavers in the race results.
"Our women's team fought hard today and placed well on a challenging course," said Sean Cabaniss, UMaine-Farmington's head cross country and track & field coach. "Our teams will return to Thomas for the North Atlantic Conference Championships, so today helped us get an idea of what to expect in a month and a half."
"Now we're looking forward to training through an off weekend coming up, and getting ready for the Husson meet in two weeks," said Cabaniss.
The Beavers return to action on Saturday, Sept. 25, when they head to Bangor, Maine, to compete in the Husson Harrier Invitational.
