WATERVILLE, Maine – First year Neil Larochelle III shot an even-par 70 and was second overall at the one-day Thomas College Invitational, Saturday at the Waterville Country Club.
Larochelle was only one shot off the pace set by medalist Jack King from Husson University. He was one shot ahead of the Eagles' Will Kavanaugh on the individual leaderboard.
Chris Frey finished in a tie for 11th overall with an 81 (+11), while Daniel Mickiewicz carded an 82 (+12) and was tied for 13th on the leaderboard. Jack Burton was 21st overall with an 89, and Ryan Sargent rounded out the UMaine-Farmington five with a 93.
UMaine-Farmington carded a 322 (+42) on the par 70, 6026-yard Waterville course, and trailed third-place Colby College (318, +38) by four strokes. The host squad from Thomas College was second with a 314 (+34).
Husson was atop the team leaderboard with a 284 (+4).
UMaine-Farmington will host its annual one-day UMF Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 19, at Waterville Country Club.
