FARMINGTON, Maine - Prior to Thursday afternoon's contest, the University of Maine at Farmington Field Hockey team had the pleasure of honoring three seniors, Mya Daniels (Limington, Maine), Katelyn Rouleau (Freeport, Maine), and Kelsey Williams (Freeport, Maine), for their contributions to the program over the past four seasons.
The New England College Pilgrims spoiled senior day on Thursday afternoon by defeating the Beavers 5-0. After a scoreless first ten minutes of the game, Drea Chin (Laconia, N.H.) got the scoring started in the 11th minute off a feed from Mikayla Vincent (Newburyport, Mass.).'
The Pilgrims would double their lead when Lilli McCormick (Dexter, Maine) converted a penalty stroke in the 18th minute. Chin scored her second goal of the game in the 22nd minute, once again off a feed from Vincent.
The Pilgrims got goals from Annalisa Crooks (Nantucket, Mass.) and Tatum Golis (New Hartford, N.Y.) both tallied goals in the second half to finish off Thursday's scoring. Chin and Vincent tallied the assists on the Crooks and Golis markers.
Rouleau started in goal for the Beavers, registering nine saves in the defeat. Emma Willey picked up her fourth defensive save of the season. Jackie Mountford (New London, N.H.) and Makenzie Anderson (Antrim, N.H.) combined on the shutout for the Pilgrims but neither registered a save.
The Pilgrims held advantages in shots (21-0), shots on goal (15-0) and penalty corners (11-0).
The Beavers drop to 1-10 on the season while the Pilgrims are now 9-5.
