Beavers Fall on the Road to SUNY Poly

UTICA, N.Y. - The University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team fell on the road at SUNY Poly in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) battle, 1-0. Following the loss the Beavers drop to 4-4-1 and 4-2 in NAC play. The Wildcats now sit at 6-3-3 and 3-0-2 in the conference.

After an evenly and back and forth start to the game, the Wildcats were able to break the scoreless tie in the 30th minute when Abus Mohamed-Ali (Schenectady, N.Y.) was able to spin of a Beaver defender into the box before sliding a shot into the lower corner of the goal out of the outstretched arms of Beaver goalkeeper Jonah Sautter (Lisbon, Maine)


The Beavers were unable to find their offensive stride on the road today. The Wildcats held advantages in shots (14-6), shots on goal (6-1), and corner kicks (12-2). Sautter registered five saves for the Beavers. Wildcat goalkeeper James D'Alessio (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) made one save in recording the shutout.

The Beavers will continue their weekend New York trip as they head to Cazenovia College tomorrow, October 9th and take on the Wildcats at 11 AM.
