Beavers Battle Wildcats to a Tie to Finish New York Weekend

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - The University of Maine at Farmington men's soccer team finished off their New York weekend by tying Cazenovia College 0-0 on Sunday afternoon in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play.

The Beavers controlled the ball and the pace of play for a majority of the game but were unable to crack the scoreboard on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Zach Chaisson (Scarborough, Maine) led the offensive push for the Beavers on Sunday. Chaisson finished with eight shots including five shots on goal.

Senior goalkeeper Jonah Sautter (Lisbon, Maine) made two saves in registering his third clean sheet of the season. 

The Beavers held advantages in shots (23-4), shots on goal (8-2), and corner kicks (11-3).

The Beavers attempted frantically to break the tie in the final ten minutes of the contest, registering four shots and three corners in the final ten minutes, but to no avail. 

Wildcat goalkeeper Andrew McLean (Lowville, N.Y.) saw pressure all game but stood tall in net and registered eight saves.

The Beavers are now 4-4-2 and 4-2-1 in NAC play while the Wildcats are now 3-5-3 and 2-3-2 in the NAC.

The Beavers will look to get back in the win column on Wednesday, October 12th when they host Fisher College at 3:30 PM.
