Polar Bears Take Care of Beavers

BRUNSWICK, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington dropped a non-conference contest on Tuesday evening to Bowdoin College, 88-26. The Beavers drop to 1-7 on the season. The Polar Bears record now sits at 6-1.

The Polar Bears got rolling early in the first quarter, quickly jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first four minutes of the game. Jacqui Hamilton (Gorham, Maine) hit a jumper to register the first points of the game for the Beavers. 

The Polar Bears continued to roll into halftime, taking a 44-10 lead into the break. Bowdoin used a full rotation of players with no player playing more than 20 minutes, and every player playing at least eight. Every player that got into the game for the Polar Bears registered at least one made field goal.

The Polar Bears kept rolling in the second half en route to the victory. They shot 59.3% (35-59) from the field compared to the 21.4% (9-42) for the Beavers.

Freshman guard Grace Dwyer (Manchester, Maine) scored a team high 10 points on 3-6 shooting from behind the arc. Hamilton pitched in five points off the bench for the Beavers.

The Beavers will be looking for their second win of the season tomorrow evening when they take on UMaine-Augusta at 5:30 pm.
