ORONO, Maine – Seamus Reeve and Abshir Abukar each recorded second-place finishes to lead the University of Maine at Farmington men's track and field team at Saturday's UMaine Invitational, held at the New Balance Field House.
Reeve clocked a time of 7.41 seconds in the 60m dash final to claim second place, and finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 23.79 seconds.
Abukar posted a second-place finish in the 400m with a time of 53.01 seconds.
Other top individual results for the Beavers:
- Covy Dufort placed third in the mile run after crossing the line in 4:39.59.
- Garrett Jones posted a mark of 12.88m (42-3.25) in the triple jump, good enough for third place. Jones also recorded a fourth-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.28m (20-7.25).
- In the 4x200m relay, the UMaine-Farmington team of Abukar, Antonio Ciccomancini, Reeve, and Jones posted a time of 1:35.46, good enough for third place.
Saturday's meet was not team scored.
UMaine-Farmington track and field will compete at next weekend's Bowdoin College Lynn Ruddy Invitational in Brunswick, Maine.
