Men's track closes indoor track regular season slate at Bowdoin's Lynn Ruddy meet

BRUNSWICK, Maine – Garrett Jones' first-place finish in the triple jump was the top individual result of the day as the University of Maine at Farmington men's track & field team wrapped up its slate of regular season meets at the Bowdoin College Lynn Ruddy Invitational, held Saturday at the Farley Field House.

Jones posted a mark of 13.14m (43-1.5) in the triple jump, with teammate Owen Yabsira finishing in second place with a mark of 12.63m (41-5.25).

Other top UMaine-Farmington men's results for the day:

Yussuf Adow finished second in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.85m (6-0.75). He also placed sixth in the 800m finals with a time of 2:07.63.
In the 4x400m relay, the UMaine-Farmington team of Henry Scheff, Jones, Yabsira, and Justin Castaldo took second-place honors with a time of 3:40.07.
Abshir Abukar posted a third-place finish in the 400m dash with his time of 52.19 (UMF record).
Justin Castaldo finished third in the 600m with a time of 1:25.22, qualifying for the New England Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships, coming up next weekend in Middlebury, Vermont.
Seamus Reeve took fourth in the 200m dash after crossing the finish line in 23.06 (UMF record), and was fifth in the 60m finals with a time of 7.13 (UMF record). Both times met the qualifying standard for the New England Division III Men's Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Henry Scheff was fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.83 seconds (UMF record).
