LEWISTON, Maine -- The University of Maine at Farmington men's track and field team finished sixth overall at the 2022 Maine State Classic, held Saturday at Bates College.
Henry Scheff had the Beavers' top individual performance of the day with his second-place finish in the 110m hurdles. Scheff posted a time of 15.73, qualifying for the Division III New England Championships in May.
Alixx Canwell also reached the Division III New England Championships qualifying mark in the hammer with this throw of 45.84m (150-5). That personal best mark was good enough for a third-place finish in the meet.
In the relays, the UMaine-Farmington team of Yussuf Adow, Alex Thompson, Justin Castaldo, and Seamus Reeve finished second in the 4 x 400m relay with a time of 3:35.24.
UMaine-Farmington finished with 56 points in the meet. Bates College won the event with 260.5 points.
UMaine-Farmington track and field's next meet will be Sunday, May 1, when the Beavers compete at the 2022 North Atlantic Conference Track & Field Championships in Oneonta, N.Y., and Delhi, N.Y.
