WATERVILLE, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington hosted the Farmington Invitational this afternoon at the Waterville Country Club. The Beavers would place 7th at the tournament with a team total of 337.
The Beavers were led on the course today by sophomore Neil LaRochelle III (Lisbon Falls, Maine) who carded a 76. The 76 from LaRochelle put him one stroke back of the leaders. Four golfers, Kent Johnson of Thomas, Miles Kirby also of Thomas, Trevor Flanagan of Saint Joseph's College, and Jack King of Husson University all shot 75s to share the medalist crown.Â
The tournament was fielded by nine teams, Thomas, UMaine-Presque Isle, Maine Maritime, Husson, Saint Joseph's College, the University of New England, the University of Southern Maine, Husson University, and Farmington. The Thomas College Terriers took the team trophy today as they shot a four-man score of 305 beating out second place Husson who shot a 311.Â
Ryan Sargent (Windham, Maine), Chris Frey (Auburn, Maine), and Jack Burton (Dayton, Maine) rounded out the scorers for the Beavers. Sargent carded an 81, Frey a 97, and Burton an 83.
