RUMFORD, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington women's alpine team finished off their weekend with their second win in as many days. The Beavers took 1st place in Sunday afternoon's Reynold's Division slalom event at Black Mountain beating out Saint Joseph's College of Maine. The Beavers three-skier time of 5:31.55 beat out the Monks by 1.65 seconds for the victory.
After taking 2nd place in yesterday's giant slalom event, Lauren Kessen (Sussex, Wisc.) put together another phenomenal pair of runs to once again finish in 2nd place. Kessen was remarkably consistent in each of her runs with only a .17 second difference from run one to run two for a total time of 1:44.46.
Abigail Landry (Bryant Pond, Maine) came in 5th place overall and was 2nd for the Beavers. Landry's two runs combined for a time of 1:51.61.Â
Grace Mahmood (Oxford, Conn.) was the 3rd Beaver to contribute to their team's time finishing the course in 1:55.48 to finish in 8th place overall.
Claire Walters of Colby-Sawyer College, who did not compete as a team, came in 1st place overall with a two-run time of 1:34.81, 9.5 seconds ahead of the field. Courtney Pingree of Saint Joe's rounded out the podium with her 3rd place finish in 1:44.49.

The Beavers will compete in a Reynold's Division slalom event next Friday evening at Lost Valley in Auburn.
