Beavers Drop Regular Season Finale at Husson

BANGOR, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington field hockey team dropped their regular season finale this afternoon at Husson University in a non-conference contest between a pair of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) teams. The Eagles topped the Beavers 9-0.

The Eagles scored a pair of goals in the opening period and were able to add a pair of goals in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and three goals in the 4th quarter en route to the victory. 

Amanda Frost scored the first goal of the game, tipping in a Maddie Perkins shot in the 9th minute to get the Eagles on the scoreboard. Perkins added a goal of her own five minutes later to help the Eagles open up a 2-0 lead. 

Husson extended their lead in the 2nd quarter when Abbie Ross scored a pair of goals to help the Eagles take a 4-0 lead into halftime. Faith Tillotson and Phoebe Carlock tallied the assists on Ross's goals. 

In the 3rd quarter Perkins tacked her 2nd and 3rd goals to push the Eagles lead to 6-0 heading into the 4th quarter. 

The Eagles continued their scoring ways in the 4th quarter with Maddie Arsenault, Lauryn Brown, and Taryn Crummett getting in on the action. 

The Beavers were unable to get their offense going on Saturday afternoon, being unable to post a shot in the game. Ella Grant (Sturbridge, Mass.) made eight saves in goal for the Beavers. Emma Willey (Lisbon Falls, Maine) recorded a defensive save as well for Farmington. 

The Eagles were led by Perkins who posted three goals and a pair of assists while Abbie Ross finished with a pair of goals.

UP NEXT

Saturday's game marked the end of the season and the Beavers will return to action next weekend in the NAC playoffs at a location and time to be announced in the coming days.
