WATERVILLE, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington women's track and field team placed 2nd overall in the Elm City Classic hosted by Colby College on Saturday. The women finished with 73 points in their 2nd place efforts.
Highlights
Kennedy Todd (Scarborough, Maine) had a strong day in a pair of sprinting events for the Beavers. Todd placed 7th overall with a time of 8.67 seconds to claim two points in the 60 meter dash. She then placed fifth overall in the 200 meters, claiming three additional points.
Cara Perry (Stoughton, Mass.) placed one spot ahead of Todd in the 60 meters, posting a time of 8.64 seconds. Perry placed 3rd overall in the 400 meter dash, claiming for points while posting a time of 1:13.00.
Carrie Burr (Pittsfield, Maine) posted a 6th place finish, grabbing four points while posting a time of 1:51.55 in the 600 meter run.
The Beavers swept the mile run as Joy Evans (Farmington, Maine) and Eve Poteet (Fairhill, Maryland) finished 1st and 2nd. Evans placed 1st with a time of 5:40.84 while Poteet posted a 5:59.91 in her 2nd place effort.
Anna MacDonald (Bangor, Maine) placed 2nd overall, collecting five points in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 12:05.79, claiming five points. Her sister Abigail MacDonald (Bangor, Maine) finished in 5th overall in the 3,000 meters, finishing with a time of 13:29.79.
Erica Johnson (Nobleboro, Maine) placed 3rd overall in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 10.08 seconds, collecting four points.
The foursome of Evans, Anna MacDonald, Poteet, and Burr raced to a 2nd place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. The four posted a time of 4:51.47 in their 2nd place effort.
Johnson posted a monster 10.46 meter jump in the triple jump to claim 1st place. Johnson's jump was 0.73 meters further than the 2nd place finisher.
Emily Hargreaves (New Gloucester, Maine) had a big day in both the shot put and the weight throw. Hargreaves finished 1st overall in the weight throw with a throw marked at 12.85 meters. She also placed 4th overall in the shot put with a throw marked at 9.22 meters.
Kaitlyn Harmon-Bolding (Biddeford, Maine) placed 7th overall in the shot put with a throw of 8.46 meters. Harmon-Bolding also finished 2nd overall in the weight throw with a throw marked at 12.19 meters.
