The Beavers had a gorgeous opportunity to tie the game up in the 40th minute when Adow sent a through ball over to junior transfer Caleb Kolman (Bixby, Okla.), but Kolman tried to beat RIC goalkeeper Jake Reed to the short side, but put the shot into the side netting.
The Beavers had another great chance to score in the opening minutes of the 2nd half. Adow ripped a shot from about 25 yards out that forced Reed to make a diving save. The ball deflected out of bounds for a Beaver corner kick. Junior Zach Chaisson (Scarborough, Maine) took the corner, and placed the ball about 8 yards off the goal line where senior Cade McHugh (Little Compton, R.I.) headed the ball just over the crossbar as the game remained scoreless.
The Anchormen doubled their lead with a goal in the 67th minute off the foot of Anthony Recinos who found the top left corner of the net off a feed from Jonathan Oliveira who drew a pair of Beaver defenders before laying it off to Recinos for the goal.
The Beavers cut their deficit in half in the 76th minute when Adow executed a penalty kick to the lower left corner after getting taken down in the box.
Farmington was able to draw three corner kicks in the final 14 minutes of the contest, but were unable to generate any substantial chances to score. RIC picked up an insurance goal in the 87th minute when Oliveira converted a penalty kick of his own, making it a 3-1 game.
