WATERVILLE, Maine - Junior Neil LaRochelle III (Lisbon, Maine) carded a +9, 79 to lead the Beavers to a 7th place finish at the Thomas College Invitational hosted at the Waterville Country Club. The Beavers finished with a four-man team score of 350.
Sunday's tournament was made up \of eight teams; the University of Maine at Farmington, the University of Maine at Presque Isle, Maine Maritime Academy, Thomas College, Husson University, Colby College, the University of Southern Maine, and Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
A total of 40 golfers from the eight schools competed on Sunday. LaRochelle III's 79 tied him for 11th overall for the event.Â
Jack Burton (Dayton, Maine) was carded the 2nd lowest score for the Beavers on the afternoon, finishing with a +16, 86 to place tied for 25th.
Seniors Ryan Sargent (WIndham, Maine) and Chris Frey (Auburn, Maine) were the other two Beavers to contribute to the team's score Sargent placed 35th, shooting a 92. Frey finished just a stroke behind Sargent, carding a 93 to place tied for 36th.
Sam Parsell (Newington, Conn.) was the Beavers 5th golfer this afternoon, shooting a 104 and would not contribute to the team's overall score.
Husson University took home 1st place as a team, having the top five individual scorers this afternoon. Will Kavanaugh placed 1st overall individually, carding a +1, 71. Chris Kauppila, Jack King, and Max Woodman of Husson each tied for 2nd with 73's.Â

The Beavers are scheduled to host the University of Maine at Farmington Invitational at the Waterville Country Club on Monday. The first tee time is set for 11 AM.
