Lost Valley Rail Jam Highlights

AUBURN, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington freeski/snowboard team competed in a USASA Rail Jam event on Friday evening under the lights at Lost Valley. Caelan Billings (Sullivan, Maine) won the snowboard portion of the event while Arden Weaver (Surry, Maine) took home gold in the freeski portion.

In snowboarding, Billings scored 1030 judges points, impressing with several standout tricks over the rainbow box. Blue Lagoda (Syracuse, N.Y.) impressed the judges with his work on the waterfall box. Lagoda placed 3rd overall with 810 points from the judges. Noah Hofeman (Hanover, Mass.) was awarded with the judges award after taking a hard fall off from the whale tail box. Hofeman finished in 2nd after securing 920 points.

In freeski, Weaver, Zach Chaisson (Scarborough, Maine), Carson Theriault (Fort Kent, Maine), and Dominique Richard (Lewiston, Maine) battled for the top three spots. Weaver stood out to the judges when he stood up to hit the C-rail. Weaver posted 1050 points en route to his first collegiate gold medal. Theriault pulled off a unique trick to impress the judges and grab 940 points and the silver medal. Maxwell Hamilton (Brunswick, Maine) showcased a variety of tricks on multiple features to grab the bronze medal 830. Chaisson notched 770 points to claim 4th place.
