BOSTON, Mass - Three University of Maine at Farmington women's track and field athletes qualified and competed at the David Hemery Invitational hosted by Boston University earlier today.
Erica Johnson (Nobleboro, Maine),
Carrie Burr (Pittsfield, Maine), and
Joy Evans (Farmington, Maine) each competed in a single event on day one of the invitation in Boston, Massachusetts.
Several of the top NCAA institutions across all three levels traveled across the country to compete in this weekend's meet.
Johnson kicked off the meet for the Beavers, competing in the 60 meter hurdles. Competing against athletes from schools such as Boston University, Colgate, and Florida Atlantic amongst others, Johnson grabbed 25th place after posting a time of 10.94 seconds.
Burt was the next Beaver to hit the track, competing in the 400 meter run. Competing against 215 athletes in a highly competitive event field, Burr grabbed 185th place, posting a time of 1:02.82.
Evans was the final Beaver to compete on Friday, competing in the 800 meters. There was 304 runners to compete in the event. Evans held her own, finishing in 284th place with a time of 2:28.17.
