Plymouth Scores Two Early, Tops Farmington

PLYMOUTH, New Hampshire - Neveah Petruzzi scored a pair of goals in the opening eight minutes and 12 seconds of Saturday afternoon's game to stake Plymouth State to an early two-goal lead and the Panthers never looked back en route to a 2-0 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington.

The Records:

The Beavers entered play with a record of 1-2. Following today's victory, Plymouth picked up their 3rd win of the season and are now 3-1.

How it Happened:

Petruzzi scored her first goal just 84 seconds into the game, scoring unassisted to give the Panthers momentum early.

After a Petruzzi shot went wide to the right, the ball found the foot of Petruzzi once again two minutes later as she beat junior goalkeeper Paige Gonya (Sabattus, Maine) for the 2nd time to double Plymouth's lead to 2-0.

The Panthers held a majority of the possession in the first half and throughout the game, outshooting Farmington 7-1 in the opening 45 minutes. Abby Lash (Waldoboro, Maine) registered the lone shot for the Beavers in the opening half.

Plymouth continued to control the possession and the pace of play, tallying 13 shots in the 2nd half while Farmington was unable to muster one.
