BANGOR, Maine – In what served as a preview meet for the 2025 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship, the University of Maine at Farmington women's cross country team raced to a first-place finish, with five runners placing inside the top seven.
The Beavers' top five finishers combined for a total time of 2:09:49 across the 6K course, scoring 22 points. Husson University finished second with 46 points, while Maine Maritime Academy placed third with 63 points.
Beaver Runners
The Beavers were led by junior standout
Lina Martinez Nocito (Mt. Vernon, Maine), who completely dominated the field. Martinez Nocito finished more than a minute and 20 seconds ahead of the next competitor, posting a winning time of
23:22.3 and averaging
6:16.1 per mile.
Senior
Eve Poteet (Fairhill, Md.) turned in a strong performance, finishing third overall with a time of
25:10.2, averaging
6:45 per mile and finishing more than a minute ahead of the fourth-place runner.
First-years
Dellaney Flower (Farmington, Conn.),
Kaylee Johnston (Bangor, Maine), and
Abbie Dumont (Windham, Maine) placed fifth through seventh, respectively, to help the Beavers cruise to the team title. Flower crossed the line in
26:40.2, followed by Johnston in
27:16.2, and Dumont just behind at
27:20.9.

The Beavers will compete in their final regular-season meet next Saturday at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University, before heading to the NAC Championship on
