WATERVILLE, Maine — One week after being named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Defensive Player of the Week, University of Maine at Farmington junior standout Jessica Dow (Saco, Maine) has been named the NAC Co-Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Dow was instrumental in leading the Beavers to a 2-0 week, which included a 75–54 victory over reigning NAC champion SUNY Cobleskill.
In Friday's showdown with the Fighting Tigers, Dow was a force on both ends of the floor. Offensively, she had her way, consistently getting to the rim while keeping the defense honest with her ability to knock down midrange jumpers and shots from beyond the arc. She finished with a season-high 26 points, shooting 9-for-18 from the field, including 2-for-3 from three-point range and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Defensively, Dow added two steals and a block.
On Saturday, in Farmington's 76-39 win over SUNY Delhi, Dow did a little bit of everything, finishing with 13 points, five steals, a block, two rebounds, and two assists in just 25 minutes of action. She shot 5-for-12 from the floor on her way to posting the game high in scoring.
For the week, Dow averaged 19.5 points, 3.5 steals, and 3.5 rebounds per game as Farmington improved to 4-0, with a tough non-conference matchup against Saint Joseph's College looming on Tuesday evening.
